One year ago today, my life changed forever. Last One year ago today, my life changed forever.

Last year we had to amputate six joints on my fingers.

My fingers are now much more sensitive to cold temperatures.

This was my new baseline from where I started to rebuild when my new fingers had healed up.

Since February I have done more then 102 training sessions, targeting mostly the weaker points as my grip strength and finger strength.

I went from relearning to use my hands after 9 months of limitations, inactivity, blocked and damaged finger joints to being able to climb vertically again.

My training have been a mix of overall strength for climbing and stairmaster/uphill training. My legs got a healthy 29000 vertical meters during the same period.

I upload all my training on strava except my almost daily leg mobility and shoulder rehab sessions.

The only true disability is a disabled mindset.

I am working towards getting back to exploring my potential in the high mountains and will be aiming for a comeback next year, climbing in the same style as always.

I have started to work at my local climbing gym @klatterdomen

I'm starting with doing talks about 8000m without bottled oxygen and the mindset you need to have to handle that kind of environment. I have succeeded but also suffered and lost bodyparts, there are lessons from my journey to be shared.

I'm looking for sponsors and collaborations as I'm looking to build long term partnerships where I can provide value from my experiences and future plans.

Don't hesitate to send me a DM or give me some advice.

Dont forget to watch swedish tv4 tomorrow. I will probably be a part of the after five show.

Thanks for all the support during this last year it made a massive positive impact to read all your comments. I appreciate you all more then you know ❤️
Restarted bouldering today and felt a lot of joy, Restarted bouldering today and felt a lot of joy, being able to do a couple of moves on overhang. I feel like a beginner again but that is totally fine because I have been missing this type of climbing for so long and are super happy for being able to complete harder movements on the wall.

My baby skin on the fingers needs some improvement aswell and that will arrive naturally as I progress to harder movements and more volume traning @klatterdomen

Thanks to @jimruneson and Thomas Morsing for today's training session 👊

Three months have passed since surgery and six par Three months have passed since surgery and six partial amputations of my fingers after suffering severe frostbite on Annapurna I, 8091m last year.

Second photo is taken one month later and it was around this time when I started to slowly explore my grip from a pullup bar. During the second month I got a gym membership @satsgoteborg and started to work with continuity on my gripstrength.

Today I can do 16 pullups and Im very happy with the progress of my gripstrength but not satisfied.

Next target is 30 pullups and slowly start working on one arm hangs from the pullup bar. I also got back into indoor climbing at my local climbing gym @klatterdomen

One training session at a time I'm building myself up again. I'm also on strava if you want to see what kind of workouts I'm doing to get my fitness back.

Day 79 since surgery. Day 323 since frostbite. Ab Day 79 since surgery. Day 323 since frostbite.

About 50 days ago when my new fingertips healed up I started to slowly build gripstrength, hanging from the pullup bar.

Today I can enjoy easier climbing again and move vertical on the wall. I will continue to explore my climbing on the wall and I have to be patient because I don't want any more injuries.

Feels great to be back @klatterdomen my old indoor climbing gym!

Wrote a blogpost about everything I learned about Wrote a blogpost about everything I learned about frostbite. Few people know what treatments are available and how its possible to avoid amputations and recover from frostbite. A must read for anyone that likes being outside of civilisation.

During the summer I was starting to get some pain During the summer I was starting to get some pain in my left shoulder and decreased mobility in the rotator cuff. It was a consequence of losing strength around the shoulder, due to my frostbite and lack of training. I have been working with a fysioterapist since September to improve my shoulders.

Here are some of the exercises I'm doing to build up strenght. My left shoulder are more or less pain free but there are still some movements that can be a bit painful.

The rehab work I did initially was with 1-2kg weights and today I can work with 4-6kg and a larger spectrum of exercises due to gripstrength coming back aswell.
Day 308 since frostbite and day 59 since surgery. Day 308 since frostbite and day 59 since surgery.

The new fingertips have healed up nicely. The joints I have left are working well, and I have been able to start to recover more of my grip strength during the last three weeks.

I am very grateful to all of you who have been here for me during the last 10 months. All the support have helped a lot during an uncertain and hard time.

Hopefully, it only gets better from here! I might have to do something about the nails on the pinky fingers, but that feels like a small issue in comparison to everything else that has already healed up.

I am enjoying the freedom it means to have two working hands again, and the next chapter will be to train up the strength and continue to work on the mobility of the joints. It is ok, but there is room for improvement.

My friend @venkatabhojanapalli recorded a two hour conversation with me where we explore the topics of high altitude, the decisions that led up to the accident, and much more. It's a must listen for anyone aspiring to climb high because the advice given is coming from experience and might save a life or two above the clouds.

Find the link in my bio and thanks to @venkatabhojanapalli for putting it together.
Chalking up and building up my grip strength. Star Chalking up and building up my grip strength. Started with hanging of the bar some weeks ago and slowly progressing from there. With time and effort I hope to restore my grip strength as much as possible. To be able to support my bodyweight with my hands feels amazing because it opens up the door towards building fingerstrength, exploring bouldering and climbing in the future!
